Finn Harps goalkeeper Oisin Cooney played for the Republic of Ireland U19s in an Elite Round Qualifier this week.
The Clonmany man played the full game, but Ireland lost 3-0 to Finland in Wolfsburg, Germany in their opening Group 6 encounter.
Matias Siltanen, Djoully Nook and Pyry Mentu scored the goals for Finland.
Cooney spent some time in recent months on trials at Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town and Newcastle United.
The Irish U19s - who are managed by former Harps midfielder Tom Mohan - will now face Slovenia at Sportzentrum Windmühlenberg, Wolfsburg on Saturday and Germany at Drömlingstadion, Wolfsburg on Tuesday.
Harps midfielder Gavin McAteer was an unused substitute for the Republic of Ireland Under-17s as they were edged out 1-0 by Belgium in the opening game of the Under-17 EURO Elite Phase Qualifiers.
Noah Fernandez scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 loss for Colin O’Brien’s Ireland side.
These qualifiers are in Poland and Ireland face Poland on Saturday and Iceland on Tuesday, both at 1pm.
Corey Sheridan, a young Harps goalkeeper from Ballyshannon, was on the bench for the Northern Ireland U17s who drew 1-1 with Slovenia in an Elite Round qualifier at St George’s Park.
Northern Ireland also have games against Israel and England to come. Caed McGrath, a former Harps academy player now on the books at Derry City, is also in the Northern Ireland panel.
Killybegs schoolboy Daniel Cunningham was an unused substitute in the Republic of Ireland Schools’ 1-0 defeat by Wales in their opening fixture of the 2025 SAFIB Centenary Shield series in Graun Park, Tramore AFC on Thursday.

Cunningham, who plays for Finn Harps, is a pupil at Coláiste na Carraige.
Former Harps manager Ollie Horgan is a part of the management team while Martin Cavanagh of Carndonagh Community School is the equipment manager and Mickey McGlynn acts as the physio.
