Fanad United Reserves are on the verge of securing the Finn Travel Saturday Division Three title as they prepare for a crucial away fixture against Drumkeen United Reserves on Saturday.

A victory in this match would confirm them as champions, while even a draw would be enough to secure promotion.

Sitting at the top of the table with 37 points from 14 games, Fanad have been dominant throughout the season, winning 12 of their matches, drawing one, and losing just once. Their attacking firepower has been a key factor in their success, with 51 goals scored and only 12 conceded, giving them an impressive goal difference of +39.

Their opponents, Drumkeen United Reserves, will not make things easy, as they have proven to be a competitive side this season and have already shared the spoils with Fanad when they met in a 1-1 draw back in January.

However, Fanad’s recent form suggests they will be difficult to stop, having recorded a resounding 3-0 victory over Ballybofey United in their last outing. With confidence high in the squad, they will be determined to get the job done and claim the silverware.

Sitting behind Fanad in the league is Bonagee United Reserves on 32 points. They still have a chance of securing the league but would need to win their tie against Ballybofey United this weekend, and for Fanad to either lose or draw.

That would leave for an exciting final day where Fanad would welcome Bonagee to Triach-a-Loch with the winner walking out with the title.

Copany Rovers are on 31 points but would need both teams above them to lose both matches if they are in with a shot of winning the title, and even then, it would still come down to goal difference.

If Fanad secures three points on Saturday, they will officially be crowned champions. A draw would still be enough to guarantee promotion, though the title race could remain open depending on other results. A defeat would delay their celebrations, leaving the door open for their closest challengers to apply pressure in the final stages of the season.

With so much at stake, all eyes will be on Drumkeen on Saturday as Fanad looks to complete their journey to the title.

Whether they can handle the pressure and finish the job remains to be seen, but they have put themselves in the perfect position to claim the ultimate prize.

Elsewhere, in the Old Orchard Saturday Division 2, Erne Wanderers can secure promotion to the top tier of the Saturday league, alongside Letterkenny Rovers if they can secure a victory Drumoghill Reserves on Friday night.
