Largy native Patrick McClafferty earned his second senior international cap for Gibraltar, coming off the bench in the 25th minute during their 4-0 defeat to the Czech Republic in the UEFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

This appearance followed his debut just days earlier, where he substituted in the 82nd minute in a 3-1 loss to Montenegro.

In the match against the Czech Republic, McClafferty replaced Bernardo Lopes early in the first half. Despite Gibraltar's efforts, they struggled against a dominant Czech side. Václav Černý opened the scoring in the 21st minute, followed by goals from Patrik Schick (50'), Pavel Šulc (72'), and Jan Kliment (90+5').

This result leaves Gibraltar at the bottom of Group L, while the Czech Republic strengthens its position in the group.
