Fanad United 0-1 Kilmacrennan Celtic

A single goal at the half-hour mark secured a 1-0 victory for Kilmacrennan Celtic over Fanad United at Traigh-a-Loch.

Fanad had the first opportunity in the second minute when Eddie O'Reilly delivered a cross from the right, but Darren McElwaine’s header narrowly missed the target from six yards.

The only goal of the game arrived in the 30th minute when a shot from the edge of the box was parried by the Fanad goalkeeper, allowing Mark Patterson to slot home from close range.

Just before half-time, Liam McGrenaghan’s corner was flicked on to Paddy Carr, but his header went just wide of the Kilmacrennan post. In the 65th minute, Fanad nearly found an equaliser when Keelin McElwaine’s cross evaded everyone and rebounded off the post.

With 15 minutes remaining, Conor Black embarked on a mazy run but fired over the crossbar. Fanad pushed forward in the closing stages, forcing Kilmacrennan goalkeeper Eoin McGettigan into a fine save to deny O'Reilly. The final chance came in injury time when O'Reilly headed a Daibhid Lynch free-kick just wide.

Drumkeen United 0-6 Letterbarrow Celtic

A sunny day in Drumkeen saw the hosts wrap up their home campaign with the visit of Letterbarrow Celtic.

The first half was a close contest, with only a Desmond McGroarty goal in the 11th minute separating the sides. Despite their efforts, Drumkeen found themselves trailing by just one goal at the interval.

The second half followed a similar pattern until Fernandez doubled Letterbarrow’s lead on the hour mark. From that point, Drumkeen struggled, conceding four more goals in the final half-hour.

McGroarty netted his second shortly after Fernandez’s goal, making it an uphill battle for the home side. Dillon McGroarty then added a fourth before McGroarty completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute. Alexander McNelis compounded Drumkeen’s misery with a sixth goal in the 82nd minute, sealing a comprehensive win for Letterbarrow Celtic.

Oldtown resumed strongly after the break, doubling their lead in the 48th minute through Shea O’Donnell. On the hour mark, Kevin McGrath found the bottom right corner from inside the box to make it 3-0.
