The Donegal Underage League side that defeated Waterford
Donegal Underage League U-13s have booked their place in the All-Ireland Final after a thrilling encounter against Waterford.
The game had ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time at the Mullingar Athletic grounds and having gone to penalties, DUL eventually took the honours 5-4.
Donegal had started the match strong, creating several opportunities early on, with Zac O’Carroll coming closest, hitting the crossbar.
Despite dominating the first half, they were unable to break the deadlock, and the score remained 0-0 at the break.
Waterford grew into the game in the second half, creating a few half-chances, but DUL continued to press for a goal. However, the match remained scoreless at the end of normal time.

The match came to life in extra-time as Donegal finally took the lead through a superb finish by centre-half Zac O’Carroll. Waterford responded with an unstoppable header from a corner, leveling the score at 1-1.
In the shootout, Donegal held their nerve with excellent penalties from Levi Kelly, Daithí McHugh, Zac O’Carroll, and James McCormick.
Conor Dorrian scored the winning penalty, while goalkeeper Harry McBride made a crucial save, ensuring Donegal’s victory.
