Former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Packie Bonner speaking at the official opening of Dunfanaghy Youths FC's new pitch in 2023
Dunfanaghy Youths are making a return to the Donegal Junior League ahead of the new season, and they are on the lookout for players.
The North West Donegal team have been building towards this in recent years, and in 2023 opened their new pitch, Callum Friel Park in Lurgabrack, officially opened by Packie Bonner.
The club posted on social media in an attempt to gain interest in players signing for the club, with an open training taking place tonight, Wednesday, July 23, behind Creeslough Chapel at 7pm to 8.30pm.
“Dunfanaghy Youths Football Club is pleased to announce that we are launching a new senior football team.
“We are on the lookout for committed players (16+) to join us for the upcoming season and are running an open session for anyone who thinks they might want to be a part of this brand new team or just find out more.
“Whether you're returning to the game or looking for a new challenge, all positions are open – especially keen to hear from goalkeepers, defenders, and central midfielders!
“We’re building something fresh – a competitive, supportive squad with a strong team spirit. Come be a part of it from the ground up!
“Interested? Come along or drop us a message or email dunfanaghyyouthsfc@gmail.com. Spread the word to anyone who may he interested.”
