Finn Harps' crunch First Division clash with Longford Town has been moved from Saturday night to Friday night.

The meeting at Bishopsgate, which will be a huge match for Kevin McHugh's men in their hunt to move into the play-offs, was penciled in for Saturday night, with the Longford club always favouring matches on that day instead of Friday.

But with the Republic of Ireland beginning their World Cup qualifying campaign against Hungary in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, the game has been moved to 24 hours earlier.

The match will now take place at 7.45pm, as the Harps look to move into the play-off positions.

After Friday night's 1-0 win over Treaty United, thanks to Hans Mpongo's goal, the Ballybofey-based club moved to one point behind the Limerick side.

And a win over Longford and Treaty failing to win against UCD would see them move into the top five.
