Amber Barrett and Tyler Toland
The Republic of Ireland women’s team have been grouped with France, Netherlands and Poland in the European qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Donegal natives Amber Barrett and Tyler Toland, as well as Anna Patten, who qualifies for the Girls in Green thanks to family links to Falcarragh, will all be looking to help propel Ireland to another World Cup finals appearance.

The Girls in Green are familiar with France, having met them in their Euro 2025 qualifying campaign.
They lost 1–0 in the opening fixture in Metz but later earned a memorable 3–1 victory at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Against the Netherlands, Ireland secured a famous 0–0 draw back in 2017, and they defeated Poland 2–0 in their most recent encounter at the 2022 Pinatar Cup.
The top team from each group will earn automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, while all remaining sides are assured a seeded playoff berth. Finishing second or third provides a more favourable playoff route.
The Donegal trio and their Ireland teammates will be targeting consecutive World Cup appearances after making their debut at the 2023 tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
