Finn Harps futsal team celebrate their excellent title win

The Finn Harps FC Down Syndrome Futsal Squad celebrated a hugewin on Sunday as they secured the Cairdeas Cup.

The tournament, held at the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown, saw the team compete in group matches against Bohemian FC, Dundalk, Wexford, Cork City, and Derry City.

This year’s triumph was especially rewarding for both players and coaches. After losing last year’s final to Dundalk on penalties - despite winning the two tournaments prior - the team returned with real determination and reclaimed their place at the top.

The squad included goalkeeper David Crawford, along with Daniel O’Reilly, Meg Carr, Anna Hennessy, Keelan Doherty, Shaun McCosker, Hughie Sweeney, Leanne Kelly, and Daniel McGilloway.

“A huge congratulations to the players, coaches Danny Ferry, Tony McNamee & head of Finn Harps Foundation Stephen McNutt,” said a statement from the club.

“A big thank you to everyone at Healthy Ireland initiative for their support.”
