Remembering Ollie Horgan at Finn Harps: the key signings that shaped his era

The late Ollie Horgan Horgan was the Finn Harps' longest serving manager and his tenure at Finn Park lasted a total of 317 games, including four seasons in-a-row in the Premier Division - 2019, ’20, ’21 and ’22

Ollie Horgan, who sadly passed away in August at the age of 57 following a battle with cancer, was Finn Harps manager for nine seasons.

Horgan was the club’s longest serving manager and his tenure at Finn Park lasted a total of 317 games.

His time at the helm included four seasons in-a-row in the Premier Division - 2019, ’20, ’21 and ’22 - with Harps defying the odds several times under his watch.

Horgan brought many players to Finn Park, some of them well known and many less so. There was no question that Horgan recruited some big name signings to the club and some others who went on to become big players after Horgan spotted something in them.

The only stipulation here was that the player had to be recruited by Horgan.

The likes of Tony McNamee, whose best work at Harps has been under subsequent managers, is not included here, and it should be added that this isn’t a ‘best XI’ of those who played under Horgan.
