Gavin Gilmore has joined Glenavon in the NIFL Premiership from Finn Harps.

Originally from Louth, before moving to Galway when he was 15, the winger joined the Harps midway through the 2024 season from Athenry.

Gilmore played 24 league games across the two seasons for the Harps, scoring once in what was the only goal of the game in a win over his former club, Athlone Town, in March.

Glenavon have struggled so far in the NIFL Premiership and are bottom of the league on twelve points after 23 games, seven points behind Carrick Rangers in second last.

“I’m buzzing to be here. I was in with the lads for the last week or two and I’m eager to get going,” Gilmore said.

“Most recently, I was up at Finn Harps for 18 months, and that was good, and now I’m here.

“I want to help get this club back to where they belong and up the table.

“No club ever wants to be rock bottom, but the results aren’t that far away, and one or two results can quickly change the momentum.”
