In a statement, the club said: “When Jack signed for Cliftonville, he expressed his ambition to play abroad, specifically in the USA. An agreement was made with the Club that, if the appropriate opportunity arose, we would support Jack’s aspirations and allow him to leave.

“Jack has been a model professional since arriving, contributing to the Club’s BetMcLean Cup victory in 2025 and qualification for the UEFA Conference League.”

The Donegal Town native previously played for Sligo Rovers, UCD and Drogheda United during his time in the League of Ireland.

“This was not an easy decision to make and I’m incredibly appreciative for my time at the Cliftonville,” Keaney said.

“I have personal desire to embrace new experiences and I am excited to take up the opportunity with Corpus Christi FC.

“I’ll always look back on my time with Cliftonville with great fondness. In particular, I am very grateful for the support of the Club, new friendships with my team-mates and the support of the fans.”

Corpus Christi FC are set to begin competing in USL League One - a third-tier division in the United States league system - from the spring of 2026.
