Sean Patton
Sean Patton scored two more goals for Aldershot in their National League win over Scunthorpe United, earning himself the Man of the Match award.
Drumkeen man Patton netted the first two goals of the game in the 3-1 win over the fifth-placed side, opening the scoring on eight minutes.
It came as he was the quickest to react after Hady Ghandour’s shot was parried and Patton poked home from close range.
It took just another eight minutes for the 19-year-old to get his second of the game, getting on the end of a pass by Ryan Hill after a quick counter, and curling an effort from the edge of the box in off the post.
Aldershot made it 3-0 just after the half-hour mark through Brody Peart, and it could have gotten better for them as they won a penalty, but Ryan Hill, who won the penalty, couldn’t hit the target.
Danny Whitehall got one back for the Iron, but it stayed that scoreline until the end, although Patton almost got his hat-trick when getting on the end of a low cross from Jed Meerholz, but he fired over.

The win moves the Shots up to twelfth place in the league, with only the top two picking up more points in their last ten games.
And it’s now four goals in five games for Patton, who has hit the ground running since his loan move from League One side Reading.
