Donegal quartet named in Republic of Ireland underage squads for Netherlands trip

Charlie McGarvey, Michael McColgan, and Jamie O’Donnell have been named in the Ireland Under-16 squad, with Charlie Bonner called up for the Under-15s

Charlie McGarvey, Jamie O'Donnell and Michael McColgan are once again in the Ireland Under-16 squad

Four Donegal players have been named in the Republic of Ireland squads at Under-15 and Under-16 levels for upcoming friendlies in the Netherlands.

The U16 squad features three players from the county, with Charlie McGarvey, Michael McColgan, and Jamie O’Donnell all in the squad.

Forwards McColgan (Muff) and O’Donnell (Buncrana) both line out for Derry City and have been involved in previous squads at this age group, while Letterkenny native McGarvey, who is a goalkeeper for Sligo Rovers, is also back in the squad.

They face their Dutch counterparts on Sunday, March 8, at UDI’19 FC in Uden.

Charlie Bonner, who lines out for Finn Harps at Academy level, has been named in the U15 squad, as they take on the Netherlands over three matchdays next Tuesday (March 3), Wednesday (March 4) and Friday (March 6). 

Republic of Ireland Boys’ Under-15s Squad:

Goalkeepers: Tae Gun Lee (Shelbourne), Adam Madejek (Galway United).

Defenders: Jack Barden (Waterford), Tom Casey (Shamrock Rovers), Jamie Jacob (Shamrock Rovers), Gearoid Moran (Shelbourne), Robert Morgan (Shamrock Rovers), Ryan Savage (Linfield), Patrick Toth (Shamrock Rovers).

Midfielders: William Carney (Waterford) Mate Isakadze (Shamrock Rovers), Jorunas Jakas (St. Patrick’s Athletic), Joe Manicle (Shamrock Rovers), Harry Rehill (Shamrock Rovers).

Forwards: Charlie Bonner (Finn Harps), Conor Hudson (St. Patrick’s Athletic), Ronan Keating (Galway United), Ben Lyne (Manchester United), Jack Magill (Bohemians), Fionn McCormack-Crowe (Shamrock Rovers), Destiny Okharedia (Cork City, Nathan Power (Waterford).

Midfielders: Cillian Phillips (Shelbourne), Adrian Rascau (Bohemians), Rhys Williams (St. Patrick’s Athletic), Bobby Zeller (Shamrock Rovers).
