There were scenes of celebration and pride over the last few weeks as both of Moville Community College’s First Year Boys and Girls soccer teams were crowned Ulster Champions following superb victories in their respective finals.

The First Year Boys produced a dominant display in their Ulster Final as they impressively won 4-0 against Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana.

It was a fantastic all-round team performance, with Finn Kealey and Ben McLaughlin both finding the net twice to seal a memorable victory under the guidance of coach Eamon Reddin.

Not to be outdone, the First Year Girls also brought home Ulster silverware after a dramatic and hard-fought final against Loreto College, Cavan, that went all the way to extra time.

In a tense contest, the girls showed great character and resilience before two excellent goals from the ever-dangerous Caitlin Atherton secured victory and booked their place in the All-Ireland semi-finals. The team was guided by coach Margaret Mulhall.

A special mention also went out to Seamus Gallagher, who played an important role in supporting both teams in their finals.
