The Letterkenny students went down 2-0 in the semi-final at Ray MacSharry Park in Sligo.

Klara Banek headed home from a corner kick in the 10th minute to open the scoring for St Paul’s.

Coláiste Ailigh stayed in touch, but couldn’t force an equaliser while Sophie Gannon dragged wide with a good chance of a second for the Galway outfit.

On the hour, Gannon riffled home a second goal for St Paul’s.

Last month, Coláiste Ailigh defeated Rosses Community School 5-0 in the Ulster final.

Then, Erin Doherty’s double and goals by Clodagh O’Connor, Bláithin McKee and Caitlin Fletcher secured the prize.

Their journey is over for this year, though, following Monday’s reversal.
