Rathmullan Celtic overcame Donegal Town in a seven-goal classic to reclaim their place in the Donegal League Premier Division.

The Seasiders held sway in a pulsating clash in Raphoe.

Eoin Sheridan fired Rathmullan ahead only for Donegal Town to draw level through Ronan McHugh.

Rathmullan led 3-2 at half-time with Kevin O’Donnell and Kevin Doran netting.

McHugh’s second of the day kept Donegal Town firmly on the Rathmullan coat tails.

Sheridan’s second of the day game Donegal Town a little breathing space but when Eoin Slevin fired home a penalty 15 minutes from time they were made sweat.

Eamonn Sheridan’s side saw it out to the finish and return to the top flight with Donegal Town dropping to Division 1.
