Bonagee United were out of luck in their FAI Women's Intermediate Cup semi-final at Money gourney in Cork against Douglas Hall.

Douglas Hall 4-1 Bonagee United

Kara Lacey opened the scoring for the Cork side on 11 minutes, before Natalie McFadden levelled it up for the Dry Arch Park side, when the referee played advantage in the lead-up.

Bronagh Gallagher played in Caoimhne Herron in, who lifted over the keeper but it fell just over the bar. Herron also had one chalked off for an offside.

Carrissa Murphy edged Douglas Hall into a 2-1 lead at half-time, with a 42nd minute goal. Bonagee had plenty of the ball without creating many clear cut chances and pressed late on and were caught twice in injury time with Alison O'Connell giving the scoreboard a more comfortable look.

It was Bonagee's first ever semi-final appearance in the competition and they are back in Cork in two weeks time for the first round of the FAI Senior Cup, against Cork City at Turner's Cross.

Bonagee United: Niamh Mailey, Siobhan Sweeney, Amy Thompson, Kaneshia McKinney, Caitlin Hume (Deborah Kerrigan) Ciana Brogan, Hannah Hopkins, Natalie McFadden (Shannon McBride), Bronagh Gallagher, Caoimhne Herron.
