Dublin ended Donegal's dreams of a place in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship semi-final in each of the last two seasons so Maxi Curran's team will be hoping it's a case of third time lucky with they take on the Leinster champions tomorrow.

In 2020, Donegal exited the championship in the condensed season due to the pandemic, following a freakish loss to Dublin at Breffni Park. Dublin’s Sinead Aherne curled a right-footed strike towards the posts but the ball struck the upright and somehow spun past Denise McElhinney for one of the most unusual goals you’re likely to see.

Last year, Donegal went 1-2 to 0-0 in front only to get reeled in by Dublin, who put the press on and ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-7 at Carrick-on-Shannon, which is also the venue tomorroe.

This season, Geraldine McLaughlin scored 0-7 to help Donegal earn a hard fought win over Waterford in the opening fixture of the championship in Birr on a 0-10 to 1-5 scoreline. Then, last time out, Doireann O'Sullivan scored 1-5 as Cork withstood a second half comeback from Donegal to win 2-12 to 1-10 in Clane, Co Kildare.

Fresh from their Munster final success, Shane Ronayne’s side picked up a merited Group D victory thanks to a terrific first half performance. Donegal bit back in the second half however, outscoring their opponents eight points to three but it still wasn’t enough to prevent a Cork victory at the end of a scrappy encounter.

Donegal team v Dublin: Roisin McCafferty; Niamh Carr, Evelyn McGinley, Tanya Kennedy; Shelly Twohig, Nicole McLaughlin, Amy Boyle Carr; Katie Herron, Niamh McLaughlin; Yvonne Bonner, Niamh Hegarty, Susanne White; Deirdre Foley, Karen Guthrie, Geraldine McLaughlin.
