Walker rescued in 'major incident' on Sliabh Liag

A walker was rescued off Sliabh Liag on Saturday afternoon following a major multi-agency operation.

Tourists and natives have been flocking to the scenic south Donegal cliffs in their droves in recent weeks.

On Saturday, the Rescue 118 helicopter was tasked to Sliabh Liag in an operation led by the Malin Head Coast Guard and also involving the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team.

A DMRT spokesperson confirmed that they were involved in a 'major incident'.

Sliabh Liag is the highest sea cliffs in Europe, rising to 601m.
