Three Austin cars with Glen Head in the background. Photo: Margaret Rose Cunningham
When Margaret Rose Cunningham spotted three vintage Austin 12 cars in Glencolmcille on Tuesday, an idea for a photo opportunity felt obvious.
Margaret Rose, the manager at the Glencolmcille Folk Village, told the three visiting car enthusiasts and offered to follow on the road to Glen Head to take the image.
Instead, she managed to get a spin in a stunning golden Austin that is 95 years old.
The drivers were on tour from Northern Ireland and spent Monday night in south west Donegal.
Glen Head and the iconic Martello tower at its peak provides the perfect backdrop.
“There is nowhere like it for taking photos,” Margaret Rose says. “When I saw the cars, I thought: ‘You just have to go there!’.
“Bar the cliff barriers, you would really think that you’re back in time looking at the photo.”
