The Funeral Mass of the former Bishop of Clogher is expected to take place later this morning. Bishop Liam S MacDaid, Bishop-Emeritus of Clogher, died suddenly while on holiday in France on August 15.
The Funeral Mass of the Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Liam MacDaid, with an address in Monaghan town, will take place in St. Macartan’s Cathedral in Monaghan at 12 noon.
Bishop Emeritus MacDaid was ordained to the Priesthood in 1969 and became Bishop of Clogher from 2010 until his retirement on health grounds in October, 2016.
The Funeral Mass for Bishop MacDaid, including Midday Prayer from the Prayer of the Church for the Faithful Departed, will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial in the Cathedral grounds.
