A special presentation of a Lifetime Achievement in Music Award honouring the Gallagher Family from Bundoran to include Sean Gallagher and his sons, the Boxtie brothers Johnny, James and Pauric will take place in the Abbey Centre on Saturday October 28, 2023, as part of the Ballyshannon Rhythm and Blues Festival.

The band have just been performing in Montpelier in France and are currently enroute to Paris. 

For close on 35 years the Gallagher Brothers and their band Boxtie have been entertaining audiences all across Ireland, Europe and beyond. 

Johnny along with twin brothers James and Pauric have been the foundations of the Boxtie band for over three decades and are a household name both in Ireland and many parts of the Continent, where they have huge followings. 

The Gallagher brothers were introduced to music from a very early age by their parents Sean and the late Mary Gallagher. 

Sean himself, is a legend of the great Showband years fronting Sean Gallagher and The Quarrymen. 

The inaugural Lifetime Achievement in Music Award will be given annually to recognise individual(s) who have had a profound effect on music and its promotion in a positive way.

The Gallagher Family are most deserving of this recognition after years of creativity in music and a family contribution over two generations and over five decades of wonderful musical memories, and long may it continue. 

BOXTIE will appear with special guests,  Live in Concert on Saturday October 28 2023 at the Rory Gallagher Theatre at The Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon. 

Doors open at 7pm – Show starts at 7.30pm (sharp) – Admission €20 –
