Gardaí are investigating a house fire that occurred on the Donegal Road, Killybegs (near the graveyard). Gardaí were alerted to the fact that a vacant house was on fire shortly after 10 pm on Friday, December 1. The fire services attended the scene and extinguished the flames but the house was destroyed as a result of the fire. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

"The possibility that the fire may have been started deliberately has not been ruled out and Gardaí appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity on the Donegal Road in Killybegs last Friday between 8 pm and 10 pm to make contact with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530," Garda Sergeant Charlene Anderson has said.

If anybody has relevant information they may alternatively call the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
