'Mary's Meals provides for 2,429,182 children with a meal every school day in 18 of the world’s poorest countries,' Fr Eamonn Kelly said
A few months ago Mary's Meals in Donegal made an appeal to artists to donate paintings and drawings.
The intention for Mary's Meals' art sale is to raise much-needed funds, as the response from the artists was awe-inspiring and after they had a great Art Sale in Letterkenny in November.
Now they are taking the remainder of the donated paintings to Frosses for another Art Sale on Saturday, March 9, from 2-9pm, and Sunday, March 10, from 10am to 2pm.
“Mary's Meals provides for 2,429,182 children with a meal every school day in 18 of the world’s poorest countries,” Fr Eamonn Kelly, Board Director of Mary’s Meals, said. “They can provide a meal for a child for 11 cents and for €22 for a full school year. So you can see what the sale of a picture can mean to us.
“Over the years the Donegal people have been a massive support to Mary's Meals and its work. Now you can have a picture hanging in your home that shows you have provided more children with life-saving food. We guarantee that 93% of all money raised goes directly to our charitable causes and so whatever we make in the art sale will make a wonderful difference to some of the world’s poorest children.”
