Work is ongoing at the Bundoran Community Centre
Bundoran Community Centre are planning two fundraising events ahead of their building being reopened in July.
The extension will give much-needed space - rooms for counselling, holding events, meetings, classes and groups, along with a sensory room, and a lift to make the whole building accessible to all. This will all be done by the end of June and they aim to be back in the building in early July.
On Sunday, June 16, they are planning two events in the town - the traditional Bundoran Bay Swim in the afternoon following on from a 5km run that morning.
“We have started to prepare everything already to make sure everyone will have a great day,” the Bundoran Community Centre Team said. “As soon as possible we are going to share more information on our social media.”
Until the reopening, Bundoran Council Offices, beside the Bundoran Library, is providing a temporary home.
“It is a lovely and welcoming place, that still allows us to continue running all the services and meet the needs of the community, be it for counselling, citizens information, building a CV, the youth hangout, learning conversational Irish or doing some yoga, or rent a room for your next AGM or training needs, while our building is reforming,” they said.
“If you haven`t come to visit us yet in our current location, feel free to pop in and say hello, we are waiting for you.”
On Friday, March 7, they will host a Coffee Morning in aid of Women`s Aid and another one on Saturday, March 22 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. If you would like to know how to proceed in an emergency case, on Friday, March 15, they will offer a First Aid Course. Yoga Classes, Youth Hangout, Karate, Social IT and IT for farmers still running as usual.
They are open every Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, closed on Bank Holidays, and are closed for annual leave from April 1 to 7.
