There has been a continuation of oil leaking onto Rossnowlagh beach.
This has been an ongoing concern and it is potentially hazardous to both humans and animals as it can cause contamination.
The Friends Of Rossnowlagh are appealing through social media for help from locals and residents to attempt to trace where the oil is coming from. As in recent years, the oil spill has been from an unknown source.
“Many of you will be aware of the ongoing oil issue that we have on the beach,” Friends Of Rossnowlagh shared on Facebook. "It comes and goes each season and it still hasn’t been located even after many investigations.
“Have you noticed your oil running out quicker than usual? Or have you noticed someone getting oil very regularly?
“This is an ongoing issue that is proving hazardous and a danger to humans and marine life. We need to figure out where it’s coming from.”
