Donegal County Council have advised that the Donegal Town Pier carpark will be closed for designated periods over the weekend in light of possible flooding.
Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for Donegal ahead of the arrival of Storm Ashley this weekend. The forecaster named the storm on Friday morning as it issued a yellow wind warning for Donegal and the entire country with orange warnings in place in Galway and Mayo on Sunday. The wind warning will be in place in Donegal from 10am on Sunday to midnight on Monday, October 21.

With storm surge expected, the closures at the Donegal Town Pier carpark are based around the times of the high tides from today, Friday, through to Monday.
The car park is currently closed from 3pm to 6pm, with the high tide time of 4:55pm. Saturday's high tides at 7:27am means a closure from 6am to 9pm and then based around 7:50pm high tide, meaning closure from 6pm until 9:30pm.
Sunday's first high tide is 8:11am, followed by 8:39pm, which means the car park will be closed both from 6:30am to 9:30am and 7pm to 10pm respectively. Monday's high tide is at 8:57am so the care park will not be permitted for use between 7:30am and 10am.
