Naomh Ultan GAA club, based in Dunkineely, was founded in 1974
Naomh Ultan expressed their delight following confirmation their appeal for the Sports Capital Grant has been successful.
The Dunkineely-based club has now been awarded €129,628 which will be allocated towards the resurfacing and enhancement of the pitch at Páirc Naomh Ultan.
“We are pleased to announce that CLG Naomh Ultan’s appeal for the Sports Capital Grant has been successful,” the club posted. “This funding is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, ensuring that our facilities will continue to support the club’s growth and success for many years to come. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our local representatives for their invaluable support and to our committee members for their diligent efforts in securing this grant.”

General Election candidate Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher has welcomed the announcement, having pushed the case of the south -west club with the minister.
He said: “ I am delighted to be informed by Sports Minister Thomas Byrne that the appeal by Naomh Ultan has been successful, and the club has now been awarded their Sports Capital Grant of €129,628. I had been actively involved since discovering that their initial application was not awarded funding in the Sports capital grants. This is great news for the club and has been widely welcomed. I wish the club continued success in the years ahead.”
