JP Kennedy latest release drops just in time for Christmas

Ardara musician JP Kennedy has released the music video for his latest single ‘Den of Iniquity’.

Set in and around a sketchy saloon bar, it features the antics of the colourful Ardara native and a cast of cowboys and outlaws. Among them is Daisy, the object of his affection. However, this gun-yielding showgirl is not all that she seems.

The folk-rock singer says the video’s wild west influence was inspired by the life of his Great-Grandfather. “He ran saloons in New Mexico and Arizona for 20 years before returning to Ardara.

The video’s colourful characters are a modern-day version of the type of people he would have encountered.”

The video was directed by Christopher Georgiou, who also directed the comical video for JP’s previous single ‘Highway Star’. Similar to that video, JP’s parents Connell and Maria make cameo appearances in the Den of Iniquity video.

The opening scene of JP surrounded by bikers outside ‘Kennedy’s Pub’ is used as the cover image for the self-written single.

Catchy and melodic, ‘Den of Iniquity’ showcases JP’s ability to cross between genres. Its laid-back Americana vibe fits with the 2024 explosion of country influenced music entering the mainstream.

The single was produced by fellow Irish artist Aisling Jarvis of the duo BANYAH. She is the daughter of Donegal singer Moya Brennan, whom she joined on stage as a touring member of Clannad.

The ‘Den of Iniquity’ music video is now on YouTube and other video sharing platforms and can also be viewed below.

The ‘Den of Iniquity’ single is available on all popular music platforms including JP Kennedy’s channels on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon
