Manus Boyle, a native of Bruckless, has deep roots in his community where he lives with his wife and family
Manus Boyle said he is "humbled" to have been selected by Fine Gael as a member of Seanad Éireann.
Boyle joins Nikki Bradley in getting the nod in Donegal and the Bruckless native has said he will "remain fully committed to serving the people of Donegal and championing key issues, particularly those affecting Ireland’s fishing industry."
Boyle posted: "Earlier this evening, I received a call from Tánaiste and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris confirming my appointment as Senator for County Donegal. This is a truly humbling moment, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me.

"I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who supported me throughout this journey from Ministers, TDs, and councillors who endorsed my nomination and spoke highly of my work in politics. Most importantly, I want to thank my family for their unwavering support and belief in me. Without them, this would not have been possible. I am also incredibly grateful to my local Fine Gael branch who work so hard behind the scenes.
"This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my political career. I remain fully committed to serving the people of Donegal and championing key issues, particularly those affecting Ireland’s fishing industry. I look forward to working closely with my colleagues in Seanad Éireann and across Government to deliver positive change for our communities.
"To the people of Donegal - 'Thank You.' It has been a privilege to serve you as a County Councillor, and I hope I have made a meaningful difference in that role. Now, with this broader remit, I will continue to work tirelessly on your behalf.
"I look forward to the journey ahead and to representing our great county at a national level.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh."
