Donegal Senators Nikki Bradley and Manus Boyle at Seanad Éireann
Donegal's newest Senator, Manus Boyle, said it was a "memorable moment" as he signed in at Seanad Éireann today.
Senator Boyle joined Nikki Bradley in getting the nod in Donegal and the Bruckless native said last week he will "remain fully committed to serving the people of Donegal and championing key issues, particularly those affecting Ireland’s fishing industry."
Micheal Martin, Taoiseach, last Friday announced his 11 nominees to Seanad Eireann following the election of 49 seats to the Irish Parliament’s upper house.

Last July, Ms Bradley was appointed by then Taoiseach Simon Harris. She stood as a candidate in the General Election, but was eliminated on the 14th count having taken 3,658 first preferences.
"Today marks my first official day in Leinster House as I signed the register for my role in Seanad Éireann being a truly proud and memorable moment for me," Senator Boyle posted. "Tomorrow, I will attend the first sitting of the 27th Seanad, and I’m looking forward to meeting my fellow members, engaging in important discussions, and building strong relationships as we work together for the future. I am very grateful for this opportunity and very excited for the journey ahead!
Senator Bradley posted:" It was an enormous honour to sign the Roll of Members today for the 27th Seanad.
"A special moment made even better by great company—delighted to spend time with Senator Manus Boyle, former Minister Dinny McGinley, former Fine Gael councillor John Boyle, and Des O’Connor. A day to remember".
