Central Hotel pay respects to the late Mary Hyland - their 'dear former colleague'

The late Mary Hyland worked at the Hylands Central, and later the Central Hotel, for over 50 years

A heartfelt tribute to the late Mary Hyland has been paid by the Central Hotel in Donegal Town.

Mary, of 19 Drumcliffe Terrace, Donegal Town passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family.

Her family owned the Hylands Central in the town and Mary continued to give dedicated service at the Central Hotel following its change of ownership.

“We are heartbroken by the passing of our dear former colleague and friend, Mary Hyland,” the Central Hotel posted. “Her family's deep-rooted connection to the Central, along with her over 50 years of unwavering loyalty and service to the hotel, is a true reflection of her remarkable character. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, dear Mary. You will be greatly missed.”

Predeceased by her father John her mother Brede and her brother Liam, Mary will be sadly missed by her loving family, Ann (Junior RIP), Bregeen (Pauric), Joan, Leonie and Bernie (Oliver), nieces, nephews and extended family here and abroad and her many friends.

Mary’s Funeral Mass can be viewed online. It will take place at St Agatha's Church, Clar at 1pm today, Thursday, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
