Ballyshannon man James Barron to take to the saddle for school fundraiser

A Ballyshannon man is  taking on a 100km cycle challenge at the end of March to raise funds for the development of a community sports and recreational facility at my local primary school 

James Barron is no stranger to the Creevy area and is a past pupil of Creevy National School - his benefitting charity - for the event which gets underway on March 29.

He is delighted to get on board with this fundraiser and help with the project. In his own words, he thinks "it's a great idea for the school and the local area to have such purpose-built facilities which it currently lacks. Once this project is built, he believes it will encourage people to get out and use the facilities to improve their own mental and physical health."

Personally, James admits he doesn't have a vast amount of experience at cycling. He has probably completed between 200 - 250 km in the saddle over the past two and a half years. He has never cycled in a group setting, which is something that he is looking forward to. The longest cycle he has completed to date is 35km, so only 65km more to go!
