Ballyshannon Handball tourney this weekend

The annual Edward Guilfoyle Doubles memorial handball tournament is set to take place this Sunday, June 12, at the Ballyshannon ball alley at the Mall.
The draw for the pairings will take place at 2pm and will be followed by the games.
This is the 12th year of the tournament which is known for its beautiful prizes for both winners and runners up.
Chief sponsor and longtime sponsor of handball in Ballyshannon, Joe Guilfoyle, who is a brother of the late Edward, will be on hand himself to present the prizes.
He makes the annual sojourn from his native Waterford to Bundoran each year, with a group of friends who come annually to the Great Northern Hotel to coincide with the yearly event..
In Ballyshannon, organiser Denis McGuinness has asked for local support for the event and hopes that new young talented handballers can be nurtured in south Donegal to allow the continued use of the unique Ballyshannon alley, one of the finest outdoor facilities of its kind in Ireland.
