Lár Chomhairleach Paróiste Gleann Cholm Cille seek your thoughts on Connected Hub

A public meeting will take place in Halla Mhuire in Glencolmcille this Wednesday, November 30, at 8pm to discuss the development of a proposed Connected Hub at the old Kik Sport site in Cashel.

The committee is currently at the concept development stage with this project and, as yet, no funding has been secured for the capital project. However, the committee has secured land which would be suitable for the development.

The meeting is being organised by Lár Chomhairle Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille.  The Community Development Officer for Lár Chomhairleach Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille, Donna Ní Ghallchobhair, said a questionnaire is available online and can be accessed via the Lárchomhairle Paróiste Ghleanncholmcille’s Facebook page.

“Lár Chomhairle Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille has been given the opportunity to develop a concept for a Social Enterprise Initiative, and we would like to hear your thoughts and opinions on our proposed Connected Hub,” Ms Ní Ghallchobhair said.

“Paper versions will also be available at the following shops; Byrne's Shop, Cashel, Byrne's Shop, Carrick, Doherty's Shop, Carrick, O'Donnell's Shop, Meenaneary and can be collected and returned on or before November 30,”  she said.

Among the suggestions on the survey are; space where young people can meet and socialise; space to accommodate services aimed at older people; a modern meeting space for local community groups; tourist information point and electric car charging point for cars; overnight parking facilities for 4-6 campervans with associated services; training/evening classes venue; siopa caife Gaeilge- coffee shop and social space for local people to meet and speak Irish; a breakfast club and/or afterschool service; workspace for artists or local crafts and public gallery space and co-working office/desk space to facilitate business start-ups and remote working.

Ms Ní Ghallchobhair said people are invited to add their own suggestions and thoughts on what they would like to see at the proposed community hub.
