People in Donegal will have the opportunity to enjoy all the excitement of an international coastal rowing event.
Loughros Point Rowing Club has been selected to host the Home Internationals Beach Sprints 2025.
A spokesperson for the club said: We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to host the Home Internationals Beach Sprints, the first-ever international coastal rowing event to be held in Ireland!

“This historic event will take place on the stunning Narin Beach, Portnoo, on September 20, 2025.
“In addition, we are proud to host the Junior Coastal Rowing Championships on July 26, 2025 – another fantastic opportunity to showcase the best in rowing talent!”
To help athletes prepare, the club will be running a Beach Sprints Camp over the June Bank Holiday weekend, welcoming rowers to train and experience the waves and the beauty of Donegal’s coastline.
“These events reflect the hard work and dedication of our club to promote rowing in Donegal and beyond,” continued the spokesperson.
“They’re also a wonderful way to bring people to the area, boosting local tourism and showcasing the natural beauty of Narin Beach and Portnoo.
