With crunch matches in the Michael Murphy Sports Donegal Senior Championship today, could the main man, Michael Murphy, make a recovery to play a part in Glenswilly's vital match against Bundoran in Gaelic Park.
There were persistent rumours yesterday that the Donegal captain could be togged out in Bundoran in what is a winner-takes-all tie. With all four teams in Group A on two points after the first two series of games, the losers today in Bundoran and in the Dungloe-Ardara game will be out of the reckoning.
A draw may be enough for Glenswilly as they have a better scoring difference than Bundoran. The sight of Michael Murphy on the field alongside Neil Gallagher would give Glenswilly a big boost, but Bundoran have been going well this year, and they showed good form at home to dismiss Ardara last weekend.
The big game of the day at the Bridge, Dunfanaghy, will see St. Michael's and St. Eunan's fight for one place in the last eight.
Two teams have already booked their last eight spot, with Naomh Conaill much too strong for a disappointing Gaoth Dobhair last night in Glenties, while Termon came from behind to get the better of Four Masters and make the quarter-finals.
It is learned that the quarter-final draw will be made at the monthly Co. Committee meeting in Ballybofey on Monday night.
