Mona McSharry . . . more Irish titles
As expected Mona McSharry of Marlins Swim Club, Ballyshannon, was a dominant figure at the Irish Swimming Championships at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin.
On Friday McSharry, a Leaving Cert student at Coláiste Cholmcille, Ballyshannon, added two more gold medals to the gold won in the 100m breaststroke on the opening day. McSharry also reached the qualifying mark for the European Swimming Champinships later in the summer.
Yesterday McSharry collected her second and third golds of the meet in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke. McSharry, who won the 100m Breaststroke earlier in the week, was the first Irish swimmer home in the 100m Freestyle in 56.85 going on to win the 50m Breaststroke Final just a short time later in 31.45.
She won a silver in the 200m breaststroke on Thursday.
