Perennial big guns St Eunan’s maintained their good start to the season with a four points victory over a gritty Cloughaneely side in O’Donnell Park.

But Maxi Curran’s men did not have matters all their own way after Cloughaneely recovered well from a choppy start to lead by 0-6 to 0-5 at the break.
Eunan’s had a great start and quickly cantered into a 0-3 to 0-0 lead thanks to scores from Conall Dunne, the promising Conor O’Donnell and Rory Kavanagh after just 13 minutes.
But doughty Cloughaneely hit with points from their own from Sean McGarvey (0-2) and Shaun McGuire to level matters by the 19th minute.
Martin McGuire put the visitors briefly ahead only for Conor O’Donnell to level matters.
John McGarvey put the visitors back in front with a fine point from play and Jamie Doherty levelled matters for the home side.
But Shaun McGarvey put the visitors ahead by 0-6 to 0-5 at the break.
That was to be their last score as Eunan’s finished the much stronger side.
They quickly levelled matters with Darragh Mulgrew giving the lead for the first time since the 13th minute.
This was a crucial score as the Letterkenny lads closed the game out with further points from Conor Gibbons
