Stepping up on to the first tee for your Captain's Drive-in is always a special moment for incoming club and golf society captains.

And the Drum Bar Golf Society's new captain, Peter McGrath held his nerve when he drove a wonderful tee-shot from the 1st during his Captain's Drive-in at Dunfanaghy Golf Club last Saturday.

But the fine shots didn't end there, because by the end of his round, Peter had delivered a score that was good enough to claim victory - on this own Captain's Drive-in!

So, the perfect start to the new golfing season for Peter and his fellow members of the Drum Bar Golf Society in Letterkenny.

They can look forward to an exciting 2022 and as always, they plan to get around a host of courses in the north west and beyond over the coming months.

In all 18 players braved the cold in Dunfanaghy on Saturday, with society secretary Laura Crawford producing an excellent card to finish runner-up.
