Donegal has been enjoying some of the country’s warmest weather on Saturday

Temperatures have hit 21 degrees in parts of Donegal with warm and dry weather set to be a feature of the next week.
The spells of sunshine on Saturday saw Donegal record some of the highest temperatures in the country.

A temperature of 21 degrees was recorded at Finner in south Donegal, the highest temperature recorded by any weather station in the country at 3pm. The weather station at Malin recorded 20 degrees, making it also one of the country’s hotspots.

While Sunday is to be a cooler day with outbreaks of rain and temperatures expected to reach only 13 degrees, Met Éireann says high pressure will dominate the weather next week. The next seven days will bring largely dry conditions and a good deal of sunshine.

The forecaster says current indications suggest that high pressure will remain in charge of our weather until the end of next week. It will stay generally dry and bright with temperatures in the high teens or low twenties.
