The severe weather warning issued earlier for Donegal has been upgraded to status orange.
According to Met Eireann: "There will be thunderstorms and very heavy showers producing significant rainfall accumulations over short time periods."
The national forecaster is warning that possible impacts include flash flooding, very difficult travelling conditions with reduced visibility and power cuts.
The warning remains in effect until 10pm on Saturday, June 17. As well as Donegal, areas included in the status orange warning are Cavan, Clare, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath and all of Connacht.
