Gardaí warn caution as black ice remains on backroads across the county

A number of schools remain closed across the county this morning as a weather warning remains in place.
Met Éireann issued a status yellow low temperature and ice warning earlier today which will remain in place until 11am today. The national forecaster says it is very cold with severe frost with icy stretches in areas which will impact travel.

Gardaí are urging motorists to drive with care this morning as black ice remains on many back roads around the county.

Meanwhile, a status yellow wind warning has been issued for the entire country on Sunday. Storm Isha will bring a spell of very strong winds during Sunday evening which will last until Monday. Met Éireann are forecasting significant coastal waves, difficult travel conditions and debris and loose objects being displaced.
