Met Éireann in late June Bank Holiday weather twist and it's not good news
Met Éireann's June Bank Holiday weekend forecast is suddenly not as pleasant as it first was earlier in the week with cloud and drizzle now predicted.
Met Éireann has been forecasting bright spells, sun and temperatures in the low 20s all week but it looks as though some cloud cover may impact our weather, particularly on Sunday and Monday.
Their outlook reads: "Turning cloudier on Sunday and Monday light rain or drizzle at times. Becoming cooler and more unsettled through next week."
Forecasters say Friday will be "dry with good spells of sunshine, highest temperatures ranging from 15 degrees in the northwest to 20 degrees in the southeast with light to moderate north to northwest breezes.
"Tonight will be dry with clear spells in most areas. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees and light variable breezes."
Looking ahead to the weekend, Met Éireann now says: "Saturday will be dry with good sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 16 degrees to 20 degrees with light to moderate north to northwest breezes.
"Saturday night will be dry with clear spells at first. Cloud will increase from the northwest overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with light breezes.
"Sunday will be mostly cloudy with some light patchy rain or drizzle feeding in from the northwest. The best of any bright or sunny intervals will be in the south and southeast. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees, warmest in the south with light breezes. Sunday night will continue mostly cloudy with patchy light rain, drizzle or mist. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees overnight.
"Monday will continue mostly cloudy with rain or drizzle at times. Some drier intervals also. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with moderate west to northwest breezes."
Beyond the long weekend, they predict "Tuesday will start off mostly cloudy with some light rain or drizzle. It will brighten up from the northwest later with a few showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with moderate to fresh northwest winds.
"Wednesday and Thursday will be cool, breezy days with sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds."
