Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for all of Ireland with thundry downpours likely in some areas.
The status yellow warning, which was issued this Saturday afternoon, comes into effect on Sunday night and will remain valid until early on Monday morning.
"A band of heavy rain moving eastwards across the country on Sunday night and Monday morning, with thundery downpours possible," states the warning which adds that potential impacts include localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
The status yellow warning, which applies to all 26 counties takes effect from 10pm on Sunday.
Motorists are being urged to exercise caution if travelling while the warning is in place.
