Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, with moderate to fresh, gusty westerly winds

Wintry showers across Donegal early this Friday morning of rain, hail, sleet and some snow on high ground.

Today will be cold and breezy with bright or sunny spells and occasional showers of rain or hail. Isolated thunderstorms are possible. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, with moderate to fresh, gusty westerly winds.

Tonight, showers will be less frequent, becoming largely confined to the northwest with clear spells developing. It will become cold with frost and some mist or fog patches as westerly winds decrease light. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees

Saturday will start off mainly dry with bright or sunny spells, the best of these in the east. Scattered showers will extend eastwards through the morning. They'll continue through the afternoon and will gradually die out in the evening. Cloud will increase in the northwest. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with light to moderate west to southwest breezes
