'Sharp' frost and snow for Donegal this week, Met Éireann warns

An Arctic airmass is to set in Donegal this week, bringing a spell of frost and showers of hail, sleet and snow

Potential flooding on Sunday sees the Donegal Town Pier Car Park closed

Sharp frost and snow is on the way in Donegal over the next week.

Met Éireann has issued a yellow advisory warning for the county.

They said that this week will be 'very cold' as an Arctic airmass sets in.

'Sharp to severe frosts and icy stretches on roads' are to be expected this week.

Showers of hail, sleet, and snow will occur during the second half of the week according to Met Éireann.

Updates with potential warnings will be issued throughout the week.

The yellow advisory is in place from today at 11am until Saturday next, December 10, at 11pm.
