Daniel O’Donnell and his family have issued their heartfelt gratitude to the people of their local community following the recent sudden death of his beloved sister Kathleen Doogan.
Kathleen passed away in Kincasslagh on February 3, last.
A well-known and much-loved mother of four hundreds of people attended the wake and funeral.
This morning, Daniel posted to social media to thank everyone who helped during the family's difficult time.
He said: "We, the family of the late Kathleen (Bosco) Doogan, wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the loss of a dear wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt who died suddenly on Feb 3rd.
"Heartfelt thanks to those who provided our family with support during this sad and difficult time, to all who attended the wake or funeral and to those who sent mass or sympathy cards, phone calls, flowers and messages."
He paid a special thanks to The Cope and Supervalu in Dungloe, Eamon Kelly at Celtic Hygene and to all their friends and neighbours who brought food to the house.
He thanked those who took care of them during the wake and 'for just being there and for sharing our grief with us, especially when the news first broke and we needed you most.'
Locals who stood out on the road helping guide people towards parking spots were parked: "John Paul and Lee who helped with parking."
A special thanks was expressed to Father Pat Ward who arrived at the house quickly on the morning of February 3 and for his great support to the family over the course of the wake and funeral.
"Thank you to Father Aodhan Cannon, Father Nigel Gallagher, Father Brian D'Arcy and Father John Joe Duffy for concelebrating the Funeral Mass with Father Pat, to all those who took part in the funeral mass to make it a very special service," Daniel wrote.
Gratitude was expressed to the ambulance service and the gardaí 'who were so compassionate when they arrived, to the undertakers Shaun Mc Glynn and Josie Gallagher for their professional and respectful service.'
Pat 'the cope' Gallagher was thanked for his assistance. Garda Peter McGee and Garda Marcus O Dowd were recognised for the work they did in helping people to park.
Daniel and his family urged people to please keep them in their prayers and to always remember Kathleen Doogan.
The month's mind will take place in St Mary's Kincasslagh on Friday, March 10 at 7pm.
