Cllr Anthony Molly
The Cathaoirleach of Glenties Municipal District, Fianna Fáil Councillor Anthony Molloy said people have given up trying to get planning on the N56.
At a recent sitting of Glenties Municipal District, Fianna Fáil Councillor Anthony Molloy said the number of people refused planning on the N56 has fallen recently.
He said that he feels people have given up trying to get planning permission on the N56 and it costs them money.
"People have literally stopped trying. It costs them money. We need an update as to where we are," he said.
Independent Councillor Micheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig suggested inviting council officials and members of the TII to a meeting adding that councillors should consider meeting with the minister as he is the only person who has the power to change regulations.
The issue of planning on the N56 has come up time and time again at the Glenties Muncipal District and councillors are frustrated due to the lack of progress on the issue.
